This video is NOT clear. Each of the Presidium testers results are determined on where the indicator lands either the highest point, or the stable position and if it lands on two different lines. The PGT II the correct reading is the one taken at the highest point as clearly stated in the User manual. If you have the PDT II (Duo) tester the reading is taken at the stable position. Two similar machines but both reading points are different. Read the manual. Plus these machines are accurate, they are just 1 test of many you should take. You need to read many books, get advice, read the user manual and practice before you get some idea. There is no 1 test that can tell you this accurately. Even professionals conduct many tests before making a determination. There are so many things to consider, colour, the structure (patterns under microscope), temperature of the stone, if the stone was clean before testing, is the machine correctly calibrated, wheres the best spot to place the probe etc etc. Its not as easy as you think. Simply grabbing a Presidium and probing a stone is not enough, the Presidium is a great tool but you need to use many other tools/techniques to accurately determine what the gem is. Plus many stones not listed on the tester can fall under different categories. You need to understand what that particular stone is by understanding its chemical composition, colour, hardness etc, it takes many years to learn. But you can always take it to a Gemologist to test.

I have only had my presidium 2 for about 5 months . I have taken very good care of it . rarely move it , haven't dropped it. One night the arm went to diamond and stayed there. . I have tried to calibrate it to no avail. It flings right back to diamond and wont register. Very upset I paid a lot for it and sure cant afford another any suggestions on a fix or is it shot. I cant believe they dont last very long . I only used it maybe two or three times a week to check unknow jewelry. . Anyone else with this problem? any suggestions. It will be along time before I can afford a new one On a fixed income raising my grandson (our daughter passed away from cancer in 2017. I decided to post jewelry for extra income . Someone out there can you tell me how I could possibly fix it ?

The presidium refractive index meter gives wrong reading for both purchases. I bought two thinking that one of them would work fine. For Moissanite it give the reading of 2.00 and for corundum 1.65 or less. How can I fix this instrument?

Gives wrong reading every time. I have two - both are reading inaccurately. It worked fine the first few months, then it is giving wrong readings for both. They do not tell us how to calibrate this instrument. Waste of money.

How to calibrate presidium Refractive index meter II. It is giving wrong reading. It show Moissanite as 2.00 and corundum as 160.

How many years machine works before it breaks what is durability ? Is it good not broken easily and electric board circuit PCB well built components ?

Does PRIM II know if gemstone is Nanosital or other ceramic glass ? Identify fake glass gemstones and counterfeit corundum sapphire from real lab grown corundum ?

Will the diamond light engage from a lab or mossanite diamond? Also is there a time frame to wait in between testing diamonds?

Can this give false readings from a lab diamond? Reading as diamond and not mossanite?

As you can see in the result there are many possible results because your tester isn't accurate at all! Pls, stop making this tester period!

Hello, it's been a while since I saw this video and I barely managed to collect some rough stones. But if I already have facets that I acquired over time, I would say quite a few. Today I am thinking how I am going to identify the raw rubies that I have. The largest is more than 400 carats and in facets I acquired 50 carats in the individual tests that I did on them. So far they are positive but I am still not convinced. and I cannot send to certify until I am sure that they are genuine with AT LEAST 90-% security because they are genuine or false, they will charge me and I only collect and I also do it as an investment and all my savings are there, they come with certificates but that does not guarantee that they are genuine, that is why I need a device like this, the problem would be the biggest

Well i bought it for a purpose and it's not working and fooling. Even not performing basic things, like digital meter is dead. Continues bipping

First of all continuous bipping is a problem, 2ndly digitals meter is not working as shown in the introduction. It must show 2 while pressing Cal but remains dead
